Guinea Pigs?

"I thought you were already gone." This is a question/statement that we hear often lately, and it is a legitimate one!
So here is a brief update. We spent the first two weeks of August at International Teams(I-teams) in Elgin, IL completing our final phase of training. During that time we were reminded that we are pioneers to the region that we will be serving in. There is not a team already established, we will be the first. So like Scott(our boss) said to us, "Do you remember that I told you when you took this assignment, that you were guinea pigs?" To which Randy replied, "As long as we are not Ecuadorian guinea pigs" (They roast and eat them)
Being first into a country makes things a little more difficult. There have been some setbacks, but we are reminding ourselves that we are on the best time table- God's. We will get there and the timing will be right!  Meanwhile, it looks like Randy will be traveling there the second week of December with Scott, and then we will leave sometime in February. So one of the benefits is that we will be home for Christmas!! Yeah!!

Off we go again

We are leaving tomorrow afternoon for Elgin, Illinois for 2 weeks of language training! Not a particular language, just HOW to learn a language.
Wondering if you can teach these old dogs (mainly Randy) new tricks :)

Hope you're having a great weekend!
